Here are the various components from which the pulse jet is assembled at various
stages of construction.
Major Components
Here's the basic pre-construction "exploded" view of the engine.
This image was taken on September 18, before the rear end of the combustion chamber
was tapered and welded. It does not include the fuel jetting or reed valve
assembly which was not built at this time.
Intake Body
This is turned from solid aluminum rod and has 8 intake holes which were drilled
from the back at a 30 degree angle to meet at a focal point in the center. The
intake venturi hole was then drilled from the front and opened up with the lathe
to provide a tapered intake venturi.
At this stage no attempt has been made to lighten or "beautify" this component
and I'm still working on ideas for the mounting of the fuel jetting system.
Reed Valve Assembly
Note that I've just added a page detailing the construction and assembly
of the
reed valve assembly
